This bag replaces an older bag I have that falls over every time I lay it down. I bought this bag primarily for the wide base and it lays flat no matter how full or empty it is. And it's roomy too. Typically holds two 2-inch binders, a tablet, a phone, a writing pad, magazines, and misc. items with room to spare. It comes with a shoulder strap which I don't use. It's leather so should last a long time. I completely recommend this product.This is a terrific laptop bag. First, the quality is outstanding. It's also beautiful which makes a great impression. Super functional as well. All of the important things I carry with my laptop have a dedicated place to go. I love the two outside compartments for quick access to the things I use the most. In my case, that's a pair of laptop reading glasses and they've got the perfect compartment built for holding them.I use this laptop bag to carry a 15.6" laptop, and here's the very best part. It's spacious enough that I can actually carry a lapdesk inside the bag, and it has its own dedicated section to store it. Perfect! There are numerous lapdesks on Amazon that are about 17" wide, and they will fit in this bag perfectly. Carrying a lapdesk separate from the bag is absolutely annoying, and this solves it perfectly. I just throw the bag over my shoulder and everything I need is in there including the lapdesk. I'm ready for you now Starbucks, oh yea!Here's one minor concern, and I won't even take a star off because it's unique to me. I carry a series of small items such as a pair of tweezers, a chapstick, and a couple of USB memory sticks, etc. It would have been nice to have a series of 5 or 6 or so small little holders for these little incidental items. I realize it's a laptop bag and most people aren't likely to carry a bunch of extra small things. There is a couple small holders like this -- there's just not enough. I had to throw the remaining small items all together in one dedicated compartment meant for larger items, which is perfectly ok and not a big deal. Double the amount of small item holders would have been better, and they have the room in the bag to do it.This is the nicest laptop bag I have ever owned. It's hard to imagine finding anything closer to perfect than this. I'm really pleased.The appearance of this briefcase is very good, gives the impression of a high quality product. The zipper pulls are solid, shiny polished metal, looks like inox steel. The rest of the metal parts are similar. Lots of zippers, lots of space, very convenient zipped and internal pockets for things like pens, cell phones and other small items. The front part is extremely functional, with three zipped pockets: big, medium and small. The big pocket has one zipper for upper access and two zippers at the sides for lateral access. The smaller pockets are built in a way that your things won't fall when you open them. It has three full size zipped sections, the first with a padded divider for laptop storage, the second with no dividers nor pockets, and the third with two non-zipped pockets (medium for big cell phones and small for small cell phones or other gadgets) and a big zipped pocket. My 14" laptop can literally swim inside this briefcase. At the back you can find a leather strap to attach it to your carry-on suitcase. The leather smell of the briefcase is also really nice. It ain't cheap, but it's very good quality for the price you're paying, I'm very satisfied for now, time will tell about durability.I love my new B07F1PK1K8 "Texbo Men's Solid Top Cowhide Leather Large 17.3 Inch Laptop Briefcase Messenger Bag Tote Fit Business Trip". I have a new Dell Precision 17.3" laptop and it holds it with no problem. It has three large internal compartments, each of which could store a similar sized laptop/tablet.I read some reviews regarding scratches/discolorations of the leather, but to me that is what makes this bag cool and unique. It conforms over time to the contents of the bag, and when the content changes, it will again conform to the new contents. Each bag has its own unique characteristic based on its use/contents. It also has many internal pockets to store various items, which works great for me as a student/instructor.One word of advice, you need to keep an eye on the two small compartments on the lower front side of the bag (see image). I keep a handful of thumb drives in the small compartment on the lower right corner, so if you don't zip the zipper all the way to the bottom, you can risk losing some contents. It might be an improvement to design the zipper such that the zipper slider is at the top when the compartment is closed.A little pricey, but I believe it is well worth it, considering I plan to keep it for the next twenty years. Do yourself a favor and splurge on this great bag.My original review was more positive than this. I never updated it when things got bad with the first bag I bought. I won’t make that mistake again.I bought this bag three years ago. Within a year the zippers began failing. After over two years, almost every zipper on the bag was toast. I put up with it for a while; however, it got to the point that some pockets would no longer close. I filed a warranty claim (thank goodness I got the extended Squaretrade warranty) and got some of my money back.So now I had to find a new bag. This same Texbo bag popped up and I read that they had replaced the crappy zippers with YKK zippers (known for durability and reliability). They also say they replaced the old polyester lining with cotton lining. I liked the size of this bag (the first replacement bag I order turned out to be significantly smaller). So, I took a chance and ordered it.I shouldn’t have.What I got today is a copy of my old bag, right down to crappy, second-rate zippers and the old polyester interior lining. Either they never made the changes they tout in the first bullet point of the product description, or they still have old, crappy bags they are trying to get rid of before selling the new and improved version.*****Update July 2018: I have been using this bag on a daily basis and it essentially carries my "office" to and from work. I have found it excellent so far with no visible signs of wear. The shoulder strap is holding up quite well and I use it all the time. I carry around roughly 20 lbs of weight daily. In a nutshell it is really good and exceeded my expectations. ******I will start by saying that I am very pleased with the looks and quality so far. It has ample room in the two main compartments where my 15.6 inch laptop fit with room to spare (see image). in the closest compartment closest to the front of the bag there is a smaller compartment presumably for a tablet. The one think it lacks is padding at the bottom and sides. It would not have taken much padding to offer some additional protection to the contents, particularly on the bottom. Stitching seems good but I have to say I have doubts on the longevity of the leather hoops for the strap and the way the handles are connected to the bag.Pros:- Well made- Looks great (coffee model)- Very roomy- Smells and looks like it is really leather as claimed- Pockets are easily accessible and useful- Professional lookingCons:- needs internal padding to protect laptops etc.- Handle and shoulder strap leather hoops that hold the D rings do not look very durable (time will tell and will update).- The strap itself looks very well made and strong but lacks the comfort pad for your shoulders.- Bottom of bags lacks protective "feet" or studs so as to protect the bag when placed on the floor or ground.Overall I really like this bag. I think that $179 is on the high side because of the lack of simple features,I purchased this laptop travel case in soft leather, which is very nice. Good quality product on the outside. Compartments for accessories and travel needs. I found the inside compartments of less quality material, and the laptop-tablet and other like-compartments had insufficient padding, reducing the overall quality of this laptop 17" messenger type bag with shoulder strap. I purchased this laptop bag to accommodate and protect my 17.4" laptop, with over-the-top specs, to the price of $ 4000.00, thinking I would be protected with sufficient padding. I like the look and quality of the outside of this bag, but the inside quality is not a treat. I need extra laptop bag with sponge-like protection. At this price, I thought I was going overboard, but I did it to protect my investment. Lesson learned. Shopping on-line, viewing pics of items, does not always work well.I'm very impressed with this briefcase. Loads of space and seemingly well-constructed. Time will tell whether the interior lining and zippers will hold up. I had a similar bag to this one once before and after a few short months the lining fell apart and compromised the utility of the bag. This one, however, seems to be better built with stronger stitching. If the lining and zippers maintain their functionality over extended use, this bag will be a big winner. At any rate, so far, I love it!This is a good quality bag but it is not expandable and did not suit my needs.I had some concern about the pockets on the one side for glass and miscellaneous stuff. There is no real protection for your glasses in this pocket, if you travel a lot yours should have them in their case to protect them. This pocket will not prevent them from being squished, bent etc. The inside is room and can fit a laptop nicely. Unfortunately, this bag was not big enough for my needs as I travel with lots of files and the odd book sometimes. It fills up pretty quickly, I would have kept it but wanted something that was wider so I returned it. Amazon was great, no issues returning the bag.ThanksTexbo has made a very versatile, affordable and quality leather product. I would definitely recommend this as your first leather bag. I am very happy with this purchase. When you purchase your bag, please guard it from the elements by putting on some leather wax to ensure the longevity of this beautiful product. The bag is well-sized, not too bulky but allows me to pack my own lunch and carry my laptop around.Update: After 3 years of frequent and gentle use, this bag is not showing noticeable wear and tear. In the past lower quality leather products would show cracks, but this bag is still holding out very well.I recommend this product!
